The Yoga Company Teacher
Training Programs provide an opportunity to deepen ones experience
and understanding of yoga. One need not be teaching or planning
to teach in order to participate. What is required is a basic
understanding of the practice and a strong interest in committing
to the further exploration of yoga. For those interested in
teaching, The Yoga Company Teacher Training Program will set
the foundation to begin a teaching career. This 200 hour Yoga
Alliance (link to www.yogaalliance.com) registered training
is via partnership with Greenpath Yoga (link to www.greenpathyoga.org).
The 200 hours entail class attendance, karma yoga, class observance,
meditation, study and electives.

The Faculty:
Clayton Horton, Director of Greenpath Yoga Studio and Director
of The Yoga Company Teacher Training, has been a student of
yoga for over 14 years and began teaching in 1996. Clayton
has traveled to India and studied with Pattabhi K. Jois and
B.N.S. Iyengar. His practice is deeply rooted in the Ashtanga
Tradition and Greenpath meditation. As a musician, he has
studied at the Ali Akbar Khan School of East Indian Music.
Committed to the blending of Eastern and Western ideas, Clayton
specializes in Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Greenpath, Partner, and
Golf Yoga. He is a student of the Greensufi and Pattabhi K.
Jois.
Seane Corn has been a student of yoga, meditation, sacred ritual and psycho/spiritual therapies since 1989. Selected by Nike to represent Yoga for a national ad campaign she has been seen on commercials and print across the country. Seen on the TODAY SHOW, VH1 and E! Extra she has also been featured on the cover of Yoga Journal and in numerous magazines including Glamour, Self, British Elle and Allure. In 2000 she created the yoga program for “Children of the Night”, a shelter that educates and houses adolescent prostitutes. Seane was also chosen by Caroline Myss (author-Anatomy of the Spirit) to be included in her “expert forum” on her website www.myss.com. She is currently in development on a series of vinyasa flow videos to be distributed through Gaiam International.
Bhavani Maki, Director of Yoga Hanalei and Ashtanga Yoga Kauai,
musician and yogini, Bhavani has been a student and teacher
of the Ashtanga Yoga system for over 13 years. She has received
her teachers training from the masters Sri K. Pattabhi Jois
of Mysore, South India and Baba Hari Das of Hardwar, North
India. Bhavani specializes in presenting the yogic philosophy
of Patajali's Yoga Sutras and a detailed exploration and refinement
of the Foundations of the Ashtanga system.
Greensufi, the Greensufi comes from an ancient esoteric school
of learning. His teaching & training includes harmonizing
the energy centers, balancing the male & female within, tuning
the seeker's vibrations to the diurnal cycle of the planet
& awakening the unknown areas of human psyche. He has taught
both in the United States & Europe.
Bhagavan Das, author of “It's Here Now, Are You?”, and singer
of many spiritual records, has practiced Bhakti Yoga for decades.
Rusty Wells, Rusty's path began as a bhakti yogi many years
ago and he has practiced hatha yoga since 1996. He has been
teaching in the Bay Area for over three years. His training
has been under many eclectic teachers including David Life
and Baron Baptiste, although he is a student of pretty much
everyone he meets. A key objective of his teaching style is
to help unlock the inner power of each student within a safe
and nurturing environment. Through devotion, nonviolence,
perseverance and gratitude, each one of us can somehow reduce
suffering in this world.
Britt Fohrman, teaches Pre-Natal yoga throughout the Bay Area.
She is presently studying to be a Doula and is a certified
therapist of Shiatsu, Acupressure, and Pre-Natal Massage.
Britt enjoys using her ingenuity and knowledge of the body
to help people, (especially pregnant women) become more balanced
and at home in their own bodies. She has been teaching yoga
since 1997.
Liisa O'Maley, R.Y.T., has been a student of Yoga for more
than twenty-five years. She began her spiritual quest first
as a TM meditator, then as a student of Ram Dass. While traveling
in India on pilgrimage, she attended the 1977 Kumbha Mela
in Allahabad and also visited many holy sites. On her return,
she moved to New Mexico, worked at the Hanuman Foundation
Dying Center, and graduated from the Kototama Institute of
Natural Life Therapy and Acupuncture. In 1982, Liisa settled
in Marin County. She was a student for 9 years in the Ridhwan
School, center of the Diamond Approach founded by A.H. Almaas,
aka Hameed Ali. She is currently Public Relations Director
of the Yoga Research and Education Center. She also teaches
Hatha Yoga and seminars on the practice, foundation, and lineage
of Hatha Yoga in the West. She is a graduate of The Yoga College
of India.
Atmagyana Saraswati Kaser has been studying and practicing
Ayurveda for the past seven years. For five years she studied
with, and worked for, Dr. Vasant Lad, of The Ayurvedic Institute
in Albuquerque, NM. Currently she is a partner in Berkeley
Ayurveda, providing Ayurvedic consultations, therapies and
education. Atmagyana holds a B.S. in Biology and a M.A. in
Education. Her teaching experience includes 2 years of high
school math and science, 12 years teaching dance, and 3 years
of teaching Ayurveda.
Michael Cerda is co-founder and director of The Yoga Company.
His purpose for starting The Yoga Company was to create an
accessible environment for yoga practice. That purpose has
evolved and continues to evolve into that of fostering a yoga
community. Michael has also recently combined his love for
music and yoga in a CD release "Yoga Tunes by The Yoga Company
- A Benefit for Karma for Kids Volume I". Michael's formal
teacher training was done at Greenpath Yoga Studio in San
Francisco with Clayton Horton. Having opened San Ramon’s first
yoga center, Michael has first hand experience with the intricacies
of the business aspect of a yoga center.
Anirudh Shastri has been practicing yoga for the past 25 years.
He studied under the guidance of Sri Vishnu Prasadji. Shastri
hails from North India and has had 20 years of extensive teaching
experience. He teaches many styles of Yoga - Sivananda, Iyengar,
and Ashtanga.
