The Yoga Company is a community dedicated to helping you find the power to live your life harmoniously through the exploration of yoga asanas(postures), philosophy and meditation.
The Yoga Company has been joyfully serving the yoga community in San Ramon since 2002 and since 2009 at our Castro Vally location. Through the years we have been honored to serve as the home for many local yoga instructors as well as hosting workshops by nationally and internationally reknown instructors.
As years pass and people come and go - instructors as well as students - The Yoga Company has remained. Commited to sharing and teaching the amazing benefits of the practice of yoga, we at The Yoga Company welcome all who walk through our doors with gratitude and appreciation.
What to Expect
At The Yoga Company we honor all traditions and styles of yoga and therefore offer a variety of class types and formats. The classes are based on instructors' backgrounds and influences in Ashtanga, Iyengar, Kundalini, Kripalu, Purna, Forrest and other styles of yoga. The classes each have a level association to help guide students to the appropriate class. Level 1 classes are for those learning the basics, Level 2 classes are more challenging and require a deeper understanding, and so on.
When attending class, it's best not to eat a couple hours prior so as not to interfere with the digestive process. It's also best to wear comfortable clothes that breathe and allow you to stretch. Yoga is practiced without shoes and on a mat. Mats are available for rental, but it is advisable to purchase one for good hygienne.
In a yoga practice, various posture sequences, breathing exercises, meditation and relaxation techniques are done in order to encourage the harmonious development of physical, emotional, mental and spiritual well being. Yoga is not a religion. Students are given suggestions on how to more deeply connect with their inner selves, but it is up to the student to find a path that brings him or herself into harmony.

Directions to Castro Valley Studios - From Highway 580 - Take the Redwood Road Exit - turn right at the light onto Redwood Road. Turn right at Castro Valley Blvd. then turn right into first driveway after Shell gas station. We are located upstairs in the buiding to your right.
